Teen Court operates under the restorative justice model to determine what is best for the respondent, the victim, and the community at large. Teen Courts can promote a feeling of self-worth and desire for self-improvement among offenders by providing them with opportunities to take responsibility for their actions, give back to the community and participate as a future Teen Court jury member.

First time offenders between the age of 13 -17 that have committed a non-violent misdemeanor offense. Program is open to youth county-wide with a special emphasis on the zip code areas of Bel Air, Aberdeen and Abingdon. Referrals are made by the Sheriff’s Department or other local agencies.
