Story Behind the Curve
FY20
Family Navigator has a new vendor effective July 1 2019. Most of the measures have low or undocumented figures as they represent families who have not completed Family Navigation Services. Once families have completed the program and the vendor has had time to advertise and grow the services, data will be available.
Program Summary
The existing Family Navigation infrastructure will be expanded to target disconnected youth in the county as well as continue services to families that demonstrate a need for more intesive service coordination for health and human services.
Target Population
Children youth and families in Charles County seeking health and human services, and 16-24 year old youth who are not in school, who are unemployed and their families with a particular focus on addressing the needs of youth and families of incarcerated persons.
Data Discussion
FY23: The Family Navigation Satisfaction survey was recently integrated into the vendor's closeout survey, which is given when a family ends their engagement with the program. The program did this in an effort to reduce the number of surveys going out and to improve response rates. Unfortunately, no surveys were completed by caregivers during FY23. To protect privacy and promote honesty, these surveys are conducted by someone who has not previously worked with the family, and we believe this may impact the likelihood of a response. The vendor is actively looking for opportunities to improve these numbers, and have begun utilizing text, as well as phone call and email to collect responses.
