Story Behind the Curve
Having a child propertly vaccinated is a requirement of receiving Parents as Teacher Home Visiting services (unless an exception is made on religous grounds). It is expected that by the end of the fiscal that year that 100% of the children will be current with their vaccines. For those children who are behind, Parents as Teachers will help the parents find a provider or help make arrangemetns for the parents to attend medical appointments.

What Works
Parents as Teachers Home Visitors require that parents provide documentation that their child/ren are up to date on vaccines. If children are found to be behind in the prescribed vaccination schedule, PAT helps connect parents to appropriate medical care.

Data Discussion
This data is collected for each family that enrolls in Parents as Teachers, and is updated as children receive additional vaccines. Typically parents provide a vacine record from their pediatrican, which is incorporated into the family's file.
