Story Behind the Curve
Children in this program age out at age 4, prior to being assessed for Kingergarten readiness. However, the PAT program still tracks each child that leaves the Human Services Program and reports on their KRA results, at age 5.

Carroll County Public Schools administers the Kindergarten readiness for children throughout the county.
What Works
Early education services, including linking chidlren to intervention, has proven successful in preparing children to enter school with the skills necessary to be successful. Parents as Teachers also follows the model that parents are a child's first and most important teacher. Parent educators work to improve a parents skills and confidence as well as improve understanding of developemental skills and milestones so that parents can help prepare their children to enter school.

Data Discussion
The Family Center at Human Services Program, which administers the Parents as Teachers program, only serves children through age three. Therefore, these children are not eligible to be assessed for Kindgergarten Readiness.
