Greenbelt CARES Disconnected Youth provides Life Skills Workshops that focuses on  Money Management, Employment Reediness Workshops and Budgeting workshops. These workshops run every three months. The workshops cover topics such as Budgeting, Opening Bank accounts, Savings, Percentage and Interest Rates, and Debit vs Credit Cards. Furthermore, the Employment Readiness Workshops is designed to assess individual skills, competencies, interest, strengths and weaknesses. Youth participants select all or one of these workshops. Youth who participate in one or more of these workshops either come in with expectations of obtaining employment from the program or already have the tools to obtain employment but want to polish their skills in obtaining employment. For FY20, the program will aim at encouraging these youth who have completed the Life Skills Workshops to apply and secure employment as a result of the program.
