Program Summary
Provides low cost, community and school-based clinical counseling services for children, youth, and adults.
Target Population
The target population includes school-aged children and youth. Examples of issues that bring individuals and families to Catholic Charities include family conflict, substance abuse, poor academic performance and/or school-based behavior, and involvement with law enforcement and/or juvenile services for delinquent behavior. Individuals and families may self-refer for services. Additional referral sources include schools, police, the faith-based community, social services, health department and juvenile services.
Promising Practice/Model/EBP Employed
Catholic Charities uses research-informed treatment models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Catholic Charities uses the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) to measure client progress achieved through counseling.
