Story Behind the Curve

During fiscal year, the Worcester County Health Department, Behavioral Health Unit reported that there were 35 families served through the program. There were an average of 12 contact hours through the Department of Social Services given to each family per month, and 6 contact hours made by peer support specialist each month.

Substance Abuse treatment was a success with 29 individuals during the fiscal year.

Program Summary

Integrated Services for Child Maltreatment provides a co-located, integrated approach to working with families receiving assistance from the child welfare system and also needing substance abuse treatment. This integrated approach works with the families, to provide a range of comprehensive services that holistically address the parents and the child's needs. This program utilizes the following evidence based methods: Screening, Brief Intervention and Treatment (SBIRT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Asset Building.
