Disconnected Youth Fellows, Junior Achievement (Wicomico County FY 17) Annual
Program Summary
Program to focus on teaching disconnected youth personal finance skills, career success skills, and job shadowing. Success in this course will result in job placement for 12 weeks.
15 weeks of education & training to include Personal Finance, Career Success, & Job Shadowing
12 weeks of supportive employment with a trained & certified youth employment coach (6 weeks’ pay from CPA & 6 weeks invested by employers)
Target Population
Disconnected youth in Wicomico County ages 18-24 not in school and not working. Specifically, these youth will be targeted from partners to include Greater Salisbury Committee, Salisbury Police Department, Board of Education, and others.
