Story Behind the Curve
- We now offer two afterschool programs on gardening and nutrition, separating cooking into its own class because of its popularity.
- We model healthy eating each day -- even when the classes focus on art, science, or sports -- by providing healthy snacks and dinners.
- We include gardening and nutrition during our half-day programs offered to families on some of the days when Talbot County Public School students only have a half-day of school instruction.
- We have a presence at most evening school events, giving us a way to reach parents and kids with healthy eating examples and messages.
Action Plan
- Hire and train new afterschool director
- Develop a strategy for obtaining better participation in surveys
