Skillpoint Alliance is a 501(C)3 organization that provides Skilled Trades certification training at no-cost to approximately 200 Central Texas residents each year, since 1994. By aligning the Skillpoint Alliance Gateway program to the workforce needs of Austin and Waco, Skillpoint offers hard skills training in HVAC, Electrical, Pipefitting & Plumbing, Certified Nurse Aide and Medication Aide; and additionally prepares all graduates to gain a meaningful career with professional development skills to mirror their technical knowledge.

The Gateway Program impacts Central Texans of all backgrounds currently living below the 200% Federal Poverty Line and those who do not have a high school diploma or GED. Skillpoint Alliance's vision for all graduates earning a Skilled Trades certification from the Gateway Program is, to find a meaningful career opposed to a job to get by. Throughout the 4-8 week courses, we provide our graduates with information on the industry they are training for, including salary growth, job and continuing education opportunities (such as joining an apprenticeship).
