Action Plan
1. Targeted outreach to habitually truant student and families.
2. Develop cases from the Family Recovery Court.
3. Working with Juvenile Services with their older youth population that are considered disconnected.
Program Summary
Educational Liaison focuses on youth who are habitually truant, from families affected by incarceration, and involved with DJS or another agency. The liaison works with the families to develop plans and approaches to see the youth be successful. FY 2019, the Naviagtor will be working with habitually traunant children due to homelessness, hunger, from families affected by incarceration, and youth identified by different child serving agencies, such as DJS.
Target Population
The primary target for these programs are youth who are disconnected and/or come from families affected by incarceration. Program participants are identified as being habitually truant by the school system, involved in the drug court program, and other agency referrals. Youth that are habitually truant.
