What We Do

Healthy Families America (HFA) is one of the leading family support and evidence-based home visiting program in the United States. We believe early, nurturing relationships are the foundation of healthy development. We partner with families to help support attachment and bonding between parents/caretakers and their child; while offering tools and resources.  HFA is a FREE and Voluntary program. Children do not come with an instruction manual, and every now and then parents need a little help with the challenges that come with parenthood.

Who We Serve

Families are enrolled prenatally or within three months of the child’s birth.  Once enrolled, services are offered until the child’s third birthday and then we help to transition the child to other community services. If a family is referred to us by Department of Health and Human Services, we can work with them until the child is age five. We serve Scottsbluff, Morrill, Box Butte, Cheyenne, Kimball, Garden, Banner, and Deuel counties.

How We Impact

HFA aims to:

  • Increase school readiness
  • Improve parent-child interactions and children’s social-emotional well-being
  • Reduce child maltreatment
  • Promote child physical health and development
  • Promote positive parenting
  • Promote family self-sufficiency
  • Increase access to primary care medical services and community services
  • Decrease child injuries and emergency department use
Partnerships

HFA partners with hospitals, medical providers, WIC, DHHS, CAPWN, Schools, and anyone or entity that has access to the families in need of our services.
