Story Behind the Curve
The Youth and Young Adult Initiative was a new program in FY19 that required a formal bidding process to select a vendor. As a new program, procurement could not begin until the Community Partnership Agreement (CPA) between CCFN and GOC was fully executed. The CCFN received the CPA in February, at which time the procurement process began. The contract for this program was awared to Southern Maryland Community Network (SMCN) in June 2019. A Youth Engagement Coordinator was hired in July 2019. No services were rendered in FY19.
Program Summary
A full-time bachelor's level Youth Engagement Coordinator assists Disconnected Youth in developing soft skills, as well as, providing job search or educational/vocational program enrollment assistance.
Target Population
Disconnected Youth and youth at risk of becoming disconnected.
