United Way Worldwide, as part of its contribution to the National Results and Equity Collaborative, recommend the following birth to eight Results and Indicators. They were created, using the lens of Communication Power, Proxy Power and Data Power to support local communities focus on vital pieces of health data related to early child development. The 3 result areas below, at a time that’s vital to build healthy habits for a lifetime, have abundant evidence about influence not just on health but also learning and on track child development writ large. Health care access and Healthy Eating & Physical Activity are align with UWW’s two national Health Focus Areas – and we came to these areas after extensive research on evidence and consultation with local practitioners across our network. The specific language on indicators came from key professional organizations (e.g., APA). Because they’re widely available via common surveys or databases across the country, they can be deployed across the NREC networks. Please feel free to use or modify this template in your communities efforts to align partners and actions towards measurable community results.
